And yet another Vietnam/Cambodia Friendship/Victory Monument. There's one in every major town in Cambodia, and they represent a political sore point between the main party's. In 1997 as political tensions rose before the factional fighting of July 97, a bomb exploded at the base of this monument, damaging but not destroying it. |
