The Downtown Area
sits about five minutes from the beaches (by moto taxi) and has
several mid-range hotels and budget guesthouses, lots of bars
and restaurants, the main market, convenience stores and banks.
If you arrive by bus or taxi you will disembark at the bus
station near the center of downtown, within walking distance of
many hotels. The downtown area is only about a kilometer and a
half wide with most of the businesses along the main street
(Ekareach Street) and within a couple of blocks either side,
including ‘the strip’ - a concentration of sports and
neighborhood style bars along Ekareach in the center of
downtown.
