Hotels and Guesthouses in Phnom Penh... Phnom Penh offers a very wide range and variety of hotels and guesthouses - from $3 a night budget guesthouse rooms to 5-star luxury hotels. Hotels and guesthouses are spread across the city, though there is a greater concentration toward the center and river side of town. Always bustling, the riverfront is probably the most popular tourist area the city, with dozens of hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops lining the river side road and radiating streets, including two popular bar streets - Street 136 and Street 104 - both offering a dozen-plus bars and eateries squeezed into a block or two. The Boeung Keng Kang 1 (BKK1) area a couple of kilometers southwest of the riverfront area is also dotted with a mix of restaurants, bars, spas and accommodation but sports a somewhat different atmosphere - a bit more relaxed and drawing more NGO and IO workers, expats, travelers and other foreigners. Boeung Kak Lake has been completely filled and the old lakeside budget travelers scene is almost gone, though a few old lake businesses are still running. A couple of new clusters of budget oriented businesses, including some former lakeside guesthouses, are taking shape along Street 172 behind Wat Ounalom, in the BKK1 area and on Street 258 near the riverfront.

Mid-range a/c rooms run $15-$90/night with CTV, fridge and hot water at the low end and well-outfitted rooms at the top. Business class starts at about $120. Fan & bed budget digs can be had for $3-$10/night.
